The College of Southern Maryland, in Leonardtown, and St. Mary’s College in St. Mary’s City, are the colleges of choice for many southern Maryland residents. Calvert County’s residents are among the highest median household-income in the U.S. Their population as of 2010 was 88,737. The county’s education system consists of 13 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 4 high schools.
