Since this organizations main goal is to improve the quality of automotive repair their certification process requires at least 2 years of hands-on work experience coupled with multiple exams.
The ASE Certification is not required by law but is often a job requirement by the employer. To excel in this field many vocational schools strongly recommend their graduates to become certified. To further customer insurances there has been an increasing trend that requires ASE Certification before you can acquire a business license. ASE Certification tests used to only be held twice a year in various locations but now their Certification tests have become available via the internet to accommodate the technician’s busy schedules.
